On August 1, 2026, the first LCC Beach Volleyball Open took place on the beach volleyball court at Kaspar-Zeuß-Gymnasium. Together with Turnerschaft Kronach 1861 e.V., the Lucas Cranach Campus welcomed eight teams from the region to a sporting tournament that focused on exciting matches, team spirit, and the joy of playing together.

In pleasant weather, the teams played a variety of fair and competitive matches. The “Schlechtschmetterfront” team (Hof University of Applied Sciences/TSK Kronach) secured the tournament victory. Second place went to the team “Dick und Doof” (Food and Health Sciences program, Kulmbach Campus), followed by the “Kronachers”—international students from Coburg University at the Kronach campus.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all participating athletes, the spectators, and the volunteers, whose dedication contributed to the success of the event. Special thanks also go to Loewe Technology GmbH and Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik GmbH, which supported the tournament with prizes.

The first LCC Beach Volleyball Open provided a great opportunity to bring together people from the university, local clubs, and the region and to foster exchange. The event thus made a further contribution to networking and community spirit in the region.
