LCC Board Members Contribute as Co-Authors to a New Book on Democracy and Education in Rural Areas
We are pleased that our board members Gabriele Riedel (LCC KU) and Hans Rebhan (LCC Foundation) were able to make significant contributions to the new book *Learning Democracy—Rural Areas and Adult Education Centers*. The book examines the role of adult education centers in political, social, and cultural education, particularly in rural regions.
In her chapter “Be Bold and Get Involved! “Higher Education Development and Housing for All in Rural Areas,” Gabriele Riedel addresses the challenges and opportunities associated with developing higher education projects and affordable housing in rural areas. She demonstrates how such projects can be successfully implemented through courage and collaboration.
In his chapter “The Genesis of the Lucas Cranach Campus in Kronach,” Hans Rebhan describes the origins and development of the Lucas Cranach Campus. He discusses the challenges and the necessary collaboration required to establish this independently operating educational platform.
Edited by Prof. Dr. Veronika Hammer, the book examines the promotion of democracy through educational work and places a special focus on the role of adult education centers in rural regions, such as the adult education center in the Kronach district.
The book is now available in stores, including at Lesezeichen Kronach. It offers valuable insights into the development of educational projects and the importance of democracy education in rural areas.
